The new Duffy 16′ Back Bay features some exciting new improvements! One of the major differences is the new redesigned hull, which has been widened to really open up the interior space of the boat and give individuals the freedom to move around freely inside the boat.

The 16 Back Bay comes in at a full eight inches wider than our previous D-16 model. Combine the extra width of the boat, along with the unfixed, movable tables and the side-steering helm (thanks to our patented Duffy Power Rudder), and you’ve got a completely different boat with an open interior to move about.

The 16 Back Bay has become a very popular model, thanks to the redesigned shape of the boat and her ability to fit into the smallest of slips. At 16 feet she meets the length restrictions on all of the local lakes and the beautiful spacious interior offers solid wood forward and aft tables, along with forward and portside cherry wood storage cabinets.

The new three step entry on both sides of the boat makes it extremely easy for anyone to get in and out of the boat!

There’s also a built in ice chest under the aft side seat! The fully insulated ice chest drains straight to the bilge pump. With the automatic float switch sensor, there is no need to take the ice out yourself!

One of the biggest changes to come to the 16 is the location of her batteries. Rather than being under the seats like on our previous models, the batteries are now located in the keel of the boat. This provides great stability and unparalleled tracking for a boat of this size. You also have lots of space under the seats for storage!

Our new Duff Eze III polycarbonate window system is fully UV proof, and keeps you warm and toasty on the coldest of days. The enclosure will also keep any rain or dirt outside the boat, without the need of a full boat cover! Just unplug, untie, and unwind!

The 2017 Back Bay model includes some other exciting changes. The new Lonseal flooring gives the look of a beautiful teak floor, but without the hassle! Easy to clean and soft under foot, it will last forever. The new “Smart Plug” power connector is included on all our 2017 boats, and provides faster and more efficient charging. Navigation and interior lighting have been replaced with new efficient LED lights, which will last for years!

Like all Duffy models, the 16 Back Bay comes with the new Sony Marine 55 watt per channel stereo. Play music, or take calls wirelessly with Bluetooth, tune in the AM/FM radio or plug in for a quick charge while you play your favorite songs through the USB port!
